Administrative History: This collection was created by Peter McKenzie (1914-94) whose personal papers are also deposited in the Greater Glasgow Health Board Archive. For biographical data about Dr McKenzie please consult the description of HB92. Dr McKenzie learnt the techniques and technicalities of photography at an early age. In 1949 he bought his first cine camera. Later he adopted video technology. Following his retirement in 1979, Dr McKenzie embarked on the compilation of a videotaped oral history of the Glasgow medical school and of Glasgow medicine generally.

CONTENT AND STRUCTURE
Scope And Content: 45 video-recorded interviews with doctors, nurses, professors and others associated with medical and university life in Glasgow, 1930s-70s. Interviews conducted 1984-93. The reminiscences refer to the whole span of the twentieth century. Transcripts of some interviews are available.
