Administrative/Biographical History

John Glaister was born in 1892, and was educated at the High School of Glasgow and Glasgow University. He was awarded the following qualifications: MB ChB (1916), MD (1925), DSc (1927). He became an assistant, later lecturer, in Forensic Medicine at Glasgow University (1919-25) and went on to become Professor of Forensic Medicine at Cairo University (1928-31), and then Professor of Forensic Medicine at Glasgow University (1931-62). Glaister retired to Glasgow in 1962 and died in 1971.
