Administrative/Biographical History

David Fyfe Anderson was born in 1904. He was educated at Strathaven Academy; High School of Glasgow; and Glasgow University. He was awarded a MB ChB (1926) and MD (1935). He became anAssistant (later Visiting) Surgeon, Glasgow Royal Maternity Hospital, 1930-1970; Rockefeller Medical Fellow at Johns Hopkins Hospital, USA, 1935-1936; Professor of Midwifery and Diseases of Women in Anderson’s College of Medicine, Glasgow, 1934-1937; Muirhead Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Glasgow University, 1946-1970. He retired to Bishopton, Renfrewshire and later died in 1988.
